I got tired of going through disposable cameras back in 2000, walked into the mall in Seattle, Washington and splurged on a new Canon Rebel. The camera rarely left my neck and I quickly discovered I needed to make money if I was going to feed my film habit. Today I live in Wilmington, NC with my beautiful wife, Jen, and my sweet baby Eden. While my cameras have certainly changed, my passion for telling a story remains. On the journey from single man to husband to father, I’ve learned it’s the moments I remember most that make up who I am. At M.Ray Photography I have the privilege of helping others tell their story for years to come, and while it’s the funnest job in the world, there’s nothing I take more seriously.

I’ve been a graphic designer long enough it makes me wonder how am I old enough to have been doing this for so many years. It’s true that time flies when you’re having fun. While professionally I am a graphic designer, I also have a deep love for photography and a particular fascination with people’s stories. The three in combination is a potent creative concoction for me… creating art out of people’s lives. Really… There’s nothing I’d rather do.
